I’m Kelly — founder of Marketing that Matters and also a social media manager, journalist, and storyteller with more than a decade of experience supporting organisations that make a positive impact.
Before moving into marketing, I spent seven years working in fast-paced newsrooms as a crime correspondent, showbiz reporter, general news journalist, and assistant news editor. That experience taught me how to communicate clearly, meet tight deadlines, and tell human-centred stories with accuracy and empathy.
Today, I bring that same skill set to purpose-driven organisations — charities, community groups, coworking spaces, wellness practitioners, recovery clinics, educational institutions, NGOs, ethical businesses, and anyone working toward something meaningful.
I don’t believe in high-pressure tactics, constant sales pushes, or noisy content for the sake of it. Instead, I help brands show up with:
clarity
calm consistency
thoughtful visuals
honest messaging
and an online presence that feels aligned with their values
I work best with medium-sized organisations who want reliable support but aren’t ready for a full-time social media manager. I can design simple graphics, edit basic videos, write engaging copy, and maintain an aesthetic presence across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn — but I’ll never pretend to be a full-scale design or video agency. If you want an all-rounder who is honest, steady, and will truthfully represent your mission, that’s what I do best.
If your organisation is trying to do good in the world, I’d love to help you tell your story.
